“Visited here on a Sunday at 5pm. Although quiet to start with it soon filled up. The 4 of us had a selection of Tapas to start with and 4 main courses. Everyone enjoyed the food and the servers were polite and answered our questions regarding a few menu choices.“

“We loved our stay at the Castle Inn. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, room was very clean and well appointed plus the bar and restaurant had a great atmosphere and nice food. Breakfast room was lovely too and a delicious English breakfast to be had. We also loved the free car parking!“

“Attended for the Mother’s Day meal and entertainment. We were blown away by the warmth and heart of the restaurant and the owner. The fact she has kept this place thriving for 25 years is a testament to her. The dim sum starters were lovely and fresh. The entertainment (dancing dragons and lions and magician) were great fun and enjoyed by the adults and children. Will be visiting here again

“I had a great dining experience here, not sure why there are so many bad reviews. Staff listened to queries when taking orders and service was fast, plenty of seating available too. Chicken Tenders with Fries, Cayenne Ranch and Mango Habanero sauce were tasty alongside their caramel shake which is nice although a bit too many bits.“

“Had a brilliant lunch at Mare Street Market Kings Cross with two friends. The daal with soft egg and crispy shallots was rich and comforting, and the chocolate fondant with vanilla ice cream was gooey in all the right ways. My friends went for the beetroot and ricotta salad and the chicken Caesar with crispy shallots — both fresh and full of flavour. The space has a great atmosphere, lively but not too loud, and there are indie shops to browse afterwards, from plants to prints and vintage lighting. A great choice for a relaxed catch-up near King’s Cross.“

“I have just moved back to Edinburgh and was out on an explore around the Leith area with my mum. We came across this lovely café by chance. The food was delicious, we both had a morning roll, I had it with Lorne sausage and a tattie scone. To top it off we both a delicious hazelnut tart. The staff are lovely and what I also liked was that the staff new their regular customers. I will definitely pay another visit.“

“Looking for a light bite and found this gem in the gardens.

As soon as it was spotted on the menu, the 3 of us ordered the fish finger sandwiches for nostalgic reasons, the staff said the there would be a wait for them.

The wait was worth it and the sandwiches didn't disappoint, huge flaky fish fingers on a choice of bread served with tartar sauce.

I also had a can of their refreshing cider.

Look forward to returning in a few months.“

“Great fish and chips… probably the best in Liverpool? Serves Haddock or Cod, both great, batter brilliant as well as the chips. Serves a lot of the usual chippy foods as well. Don’t understand how some people have rated the food less? Service is fast enough. Atmosphere doesn’t really count as this is take away only, but it’s very clean and nicely decorated, if that’s an issue for you.“

“We visited on an evening when this restaurant had a problem with their power suppply. They made us very welcome and explained their situation. Although they were unable to supply all dishes on their excellent menu they still served an excellent meal. They could not have been more helpful and refused to take payment. Of particular note was the charming waitress called Isha, polite, positive, nothing was too much trouble for her. We will certainly return to this place and highly recommend it to anyone who loves authehtic Italian food.“
